meade916 Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 GONE oh and to answer the original question: yes you can put a 4,000 watt amp on a BTL if you know what your doing. YES I CAN play my system all day, i do it at every show. Now is it a CONTINUOUS sine-wave for 8 hours straight at full tilt, NO. Is there breaks in between YES. Is it OK to put 4,500 watts on this sub if the music is dynamic and doesnt have sine-wave-like beats, YES. With box rise that 4500 probably is less, especially if you dont have the electrical to make 4500. In the past year and a half i have broke 2 tinsels and broke one of my subs in half (seperated the coil from the cone). Since then, Scott addressed why i broke the sub and fixed that issue. Havent broke one since. So far since i started running Fi, i havent roasted a single coil. The only time i have had issues is when i had 2 alts and it wasnt even that much considering how hard i beat my system down on a daily basis. Now with 4, i have a VERY stong electrical system and ive been watching the subs closely. Since October when i reconed all the subs (for no reason i just wanted FRESH subs before finals) i have not had one single issue. Unless you know your system its always best to stick with the manufacturer's specification/recommmendation which is 2000rms....and thats STILL no gaurentee that you wont ruin it.
