Hi SMD i am thinking about putting my amp in my spare tire well but.....I have a few ???

1. Would you ditch the spare(donut)

2. Does the amp run hot and should you cool it with fans.

Thanks

I believe this should come down to your own personal preference, if you are shit out of luck on space and loaded up with fix-a-flat and have nice tires(Shitty ones risk blowout, so fix-a-flat is worthless) then do it. I cut out my tire holder as well, I'm working on A battery bank. As for the amp, you should know if it gets hot or not. If it does, then well, get some fans!

I would not because to me it will get hot. But that's just me

I ditch my spare in all my vehicles always. Depends on amp for heat and exactly how much you seal it back up. Personally I would add a fan no matter what though.

If/when I ever have a need for one this is what I am gonna go with

If this amp is properly grounded and is given the power it needs it should not get that hot with a clean signal source and the proper enclosure (woofers). But check on it every so often. If the amp gets hot put a thermal switch on it and get some fans.

Its not about being properly grounded kr clean signal. Its about being enclosed

In that case I would put a fan in with a thermal switch. With the thermal switch it would save on power because it shuts the fan off when not needed.

Well if you have space, I'd keep it away from the well, because idk about your car, but mine has vent holes on the bottom, so it gets pretty humid.
