No Big Deal, Just A Big Box...

Recommended Posts

..Hi, just to get back into the Car Audio thing after such a long time

in the states, I have to do some testboxes for a german car audio

magazine. Its for the new NEO woofers I hopefully receive tomorrow

(will tell that in my TÜRANN Thread).

I designed an ordinary Ported and a little better Bandpass.

This is the Ported one, 160 Liters, tuned to 38 hz. It does

about 139 dB @ 41 hz, with about 150 Watts all in all.

Sound is ok. This Woofer is relatively cheap (480 Euro each).

I have 8 of these in my TÜRANN car.

The new woofers are "a little" more expensive, and perform

hopefully better in the same relation...

But tomorrow, hopefully I will see a increase in dB with the new NEODYMIUM Woofers !

And you see, I dont do that fancy stuff all the time :)

Sometimes its "just work" (makes fun also, of course) :)

Üüüühh!!!

So, and here are the new "beasts".

28 Kilos (62 pounds) with over 13 pounds of neodymium magnet.

Retail Price 2250 Euro each. 3.5" Voicecoil and Kevlar Cone.

Will take a while until I have them all 8 in my TÜRANN with

16 9.0 Amps, but it will happen, I am pretty sure...

More pics when I put them all out of the boxes.

That was too heavy yesterday for me carrying these

12 things around in my house...

I guess if you're using em they should be kosher ;)

<--scuttles off to find the website and look up specs on em.
