Just did my big 3, and now I have a problem...help

Recommended Posts

Snafu.. Just went out and started her up. When the system is on, I can't tell much of a difference in rpm (only have a 600 watt amp running now). I turned the a/c on, and it went down a tad, like usual. Not sure if you can tell anything form that or not. Should I take out the fuse in the charge lead and see if it makes a difference? I can see enough to do that with a flashlight.

Did you get that scar tissue when you got your vagina installed?

plug the alt back in.

LMAo. I really REALLY hope that in the morning I look under the hood and realize I pulled a total dumb ass move like that!

LMAO.. I hope it is that and nothing more complicated then. Yeah you may look like a dumb ass but its a easy fix and your on your way. Ive done plenty of dumb ass moves before.

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

Took out the fuse from the charge lead, and battery light still on.. I will undo the charge lead in the morning and see if that helps, otherwise I am lost. Hopefully a bad ground somehwhere, but I sanded and used white lithium on all my grounds. :ughdunno:

After I did my big 3 my battery light came on too. I am assuming you followed the directions that came with the kit.....

In my case, there was no problem other than he light being on. The OEM alt worked fine, started up quicker, shifted better, windows went up and down faster, but I just couldn't get that light to go off.

I just wrote it off to the alternator not being used to having that good of a return path

I was initially thinking that, or I needed to reset the computer somehow (like after an oil change). That is why I want to know if I can check the alt with my multi-meter somehow. She starts up and runs fine as of now.

Yes just put your negative lead on the negative post and positive lead on positive post while car is running will tell you charging voltage

the post of the battery or alternator somehow? I put it on the battery right after I finished and it was around 13.7 I think. Car was running

I don't think lithium grease is dielectric grease so i would clean that off and reapply your grounds and see how that goes. I could be wrong on the grease but i never use any on my grounds or positives.

It says in the directions from CE auto to use lithium grease, so I am sure there is a reason.. And from my thinking, since I added wire, and didn't remove any, the new ground would actually not matter if they were not working anyway. It would just run off the original wiring.
