So how many mass shootings do you think there's been this year, in 2013?

Around 6? Maybe up to 20?

And we've only had 260 days of this year so far. 249/260... 96%.

What is a mass shooting? When 4+ people are shot in the same shooting spree.

Take it for what you want or what it's worth. But think about it and don't judge it because it's on TV or comedy central or whatever. I find it interesting because of the comparisons. With gun laws, the Constitution is ironclad, nothing can be done. With terrorism, the Constitution is a list of suggestions.

I like the new one that just happened, with a marine or whatever that was discharged, had several run ins with the cops after being discharged due to his firearms, and even was labeled mentally unstable by the courts.

However he still had his marine clearance even after being discharged, none of hiss fire arms where revoked, and was able to go on a mass shooting.....

But we need tougher gun laws, back ground checks, physiology testing so these mass shootings stop happening, because that will fix the problem..

Yea its a shame that it happened and 12 people lost their life, but it proves a huge point about the gun control they are trying to have, and thats that it dont work.

It's not even that. It's the whole... system. If you watch that first link, talks about how there is all these things that are there, should prevent this stuff. But the systems don't talk to each other. Like he had 10 years of mental illness documented through the VA. It's the VA, so of course, that paperwork is who knows where.

Then there's that act, that even if everything had been known, he wouldn't have been prevented from buying the weapon. So... it's honestly a lose lose situation. At least in my opinion.

Actually if he had been committed for evaluation he coukd have been denied purchase. As a gun owner I dont feel that guns are the problem. I feel that society and our government has coddled people for fsr too long and now when something happens all you hear is but he was such a good boy. Blah blah blah. How many of those mass shootings were drug or gang related? How many occurred in chicago nyc new orleans etc. Just to say that there were 249 mass shootings isnt enough. Its a tactic employed by our current regime to pull on your heart strings to get emotions involved and not facts. Heres a question. How many of those mass shooters were prescribed a drug for mental health like zoloft etc? Columbine aurora sandy hook the navy yard etc. When I get to a keyboard ill find the article detailing the prescribed drugs that all were taking and the common ingredient between them

I agree with ya n8, as far as people not knowing the facts. I mean, how much of what is reported is the actual truth? As what you linked states, they keep saying AR-15 when there was no AR-15 period. Was denied that purchase.

I was just stating that out of 260 days (not sure what we're at now), we've had 249 mass shootings. Now Idk the percentage but I would assume it's pretty high that most of them were gang related and/or drug related. To me, that's a shitload. I had no clue. I figured maybe like 20. Not damn near 250.

But I do agree with ya as look at the countries that ban weapons. Their crime rates are higher. Their gun violence rates are rising. We're overturning (allowing weapons) laws and our violence is going down. DC hasn't had less than 100 murders since at least 1963. And also just four years after the Supreme Court overturned the city's handgun ban in District of Columbia v. Heller. But last year, it was less than 100.

So I agree, it's not the guns that are the problem. The guns are just a tool to do the crime. It's the people. I'd say it's the same with obesity. People don't blame themselves. They blame BK, McD, ect for making them fat.

As far as the news part goes, for sure it's bias. I watch this guy's web show thing on YT and what he said one day and says every so often makes sense. If you see the news, that's fine. That's great. But don't be content with it. You never know if it's true or not. I mean, It'll obviously be at least partly true as they won't say something that's complete bullshit such as China bombing us and indeed China didn't do anything. But go research and find out the truth. Go dig and find the details. Anymore, there's not 1 news source. There's a million. That's how we find shit out so fast. Don't even have to go to websites, but just type in whatever you want to know into Google and you'll get your answer in the results. Shit like "ps4 release date". Screw clicking on any link to go to a site, it'll say in the description of multiple sites haha.
