Nooob Pre-Planning Help for a 69 GTO

We built a 67 GTO and the customer had the stereo done at a local shop. It wasnt a bad set up for what they wanted. They did 6.5 coaxial up in the front doors and 2way 6x9 in the rear deck. For the sub stage did a simple sealed box with 10's up on the shelf in the trunk. Was all powered by a 5channel amp. It was simple and clean. Amp was flush mounted to the box so everything was up on the "shelf" and still left 90% of the trunk space

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

Me

Idd do the comps and amp to suit at the same time as you'll have to rip out the doors when you deceid to change latter

With the car you have idd do some kick ass high power comps in the front

And a nice single 10 or 12 in the ass

The deck you have will not have sub out

Only left right front rear control

So use the rear for the sub and front as well the front

What sort of system are you after just something clean more towards sq

If you want to pre wire and stay under 1500rms

No upgrades to elect except big 3 are needed in most cars

0 ga to the rear

12g to the doors or kicks

And 2 sets if rca's to rear

Run the power down the side of batt to the rear

And rca's/speaker wire down the middle or other side

Then just use a distribution block to go from the 0ga to 4g and run that to your mono and 2/4ch

I would do big 3, ogauge to the back and distribute it to ur amps in the back. 2 way components will be fine, and I would do a single 10 in a proper ported enclosure. Make it sound good and look nice and ull be happy

Guys, many thanks... let's kick up the noobiness. Now that I'm researching pricing... 2 JL 10W7's, 2 JL amps... (One 600/4 and 1000/1)... $2500+!! Are there better subs and amps at lower prices? More bang for the buck, so to speak? I need recommendations for my rear deck 6x9's too... any suggestions?

As a refresher, here are the parameters;

Prefer sound quality over ground pounding... classic rock, rock, hip hop, Reggae.

69 GTO, custom Magnaflow exhaust, with Dynamat everywhere.

6 Channel RCA pre-amp outs

Trunk mounted battery, with 1/0 gauge.

Front kick Pannels are 5 1/4" coaxial's 100W RMS

Rear Deck Two way 6x9's... no idea what make/model to pick? Focal? Assuming 100+ RMS each

Will make a custom sealed sub enclosure, using two 10" subs.... 500W+ RMS each? What brand?

That said, I'll need at least a 500/4 A/B amp for the front four, right? What brand?

Sub amp would be Class D, 1000W+ RMS, what brand?

Thanks in advance!

Yes there is better at lower prices. I do love jl and how great they sound but there just to damn high.

If it was me personally I would do eather 2 soundqubed sdc 2.5 10's or 2 sundown sa 8's. As for the amp yea the soundqubed 1200 is a great amp and the price is not your arm or a leg. As for a 4channel they make them also sobi would look in to that.

2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d

140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed)

140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL

142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at)

141 on music.
