Kevin M
You guys crack me up. Unless you happen to have a friend that is a mycologist DON"T EVER EAT WILD MUSHROOMS! Some of them can kill you in minutes let alone hours. Cause irreparable kidney and liver damage that will have you on a UNOS list waiting for a transplant. This is coming from someone who is majoring in botany. Just don't do it. Some toxic ones look very similar to edible ones. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle

Found all over the midwest states. Absolutely delicious, beyond safe to eat. Seems a one dimensional "DON'T EAT ANY" warning is a bit.... short sided. I wouldn't recommend eating wtf ever those are, though. But if you do.. let us know how that goes.

I never said I didn't know anything about mushrooms. I meant that a person with no training has no business picking wild mushrooms to eat. Is that better? Call it short sided if you want but even with this book I am listing below you should go with someone more experienced. http://www.amazon.com/Edible-Mushrooms-America-Field-kitchen/dp/0292720807 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle

RobertR
Coprinus comatus or shaggy mane. They are safe to eat but you have to catch em' young and fry them up in butter. When they mature the cap turns black and dies pretty quickly.
