Impalalpine Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Hey all, this is what my dumbass did. Jox designed the perfect box. I built it ( want to post pics but dont know how to get them on here), if someone could explain) Tried to put it in the car, seems like its just about an inch too big on every side. tried everything, wont fit. The maximum dimensions I gave Joe were just barely too big and because of that im F'd. Question is.. Can i take an inch or so off of every cut on the cut sheet so that the box would come out a little smaller with some tuning thats a little off. But it would work Right? cause then it would fit in my trunk. So here is a suggestion: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 33.5 Hz Vb = 6 ft^3 External Height = 17 in External Width = 39.5 in External Depth = 24 in Port Width = 5 7/8 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2x Front = 16 13/16 x 15 1/2 Back = 39 1/2 x 15 1/2 Left & Right Sides: 22 1/2 x 15 1/2 Top & Bottom = 39 1/2 x 24 Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts: 2 x Front to Back = 19 9/16 x 15 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes: - The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, which are done like this: - All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions. - The port needs 5 7/8" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation. - Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. this is it finished. although i dont like how i painted it Build's consist of: 2004 Chevy Impala : Pioneer--------------------- DEH-X8600bs Soundqubed/AQ------ Q4-120 Rockford Fosgate---- Punch-500.4 Soundqubed/AQ----- Q1-3500D.1 Alpine----------------- 6.5's & 6x9's Subs: TBA All Knukonceptz and SHCA wire and rca's Home Music Setup (4) Soundqubed HDS200 15's in two separate 15.5 cubic foot enclosures tuned to 31 hrz --- XM radio hardwire Updates coming all the time on both builds n8ball2013 "bullshit. Impalalpine Posted October 8, 2013 Author Report Posted October 8, 2013 I am hesitant. I just don't know if im going to get a chance to have a new box designed by joe. So im trying to figure out if shrinking it is a viable option Build's consist of: 2004 Chevy Impala : Pioneer--------------------- DEH-X8600bs Soundqubed/AQ------ Q4-120 Rockford Fosgate---- Punch-500.4 Soundqubed/AQ----- Q1-3500D.1 Alpine----------------- 6.5's & 6x9's Subs: TBA All Knukonceptz and SHCA wire and rca's Home Music Setup (4) Soundqubed HDS200 15's in two separate 15.5 cubic foot enclosures tuned to 31 hrz --- XM radio hardwire Updates coming all the time on both builds n8ball2013 "bullshit. David Bailey Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Use http://photobucket.com/ for uploading pics. It is easy, and awesome. About the box, maybe if you shrink it, you can change the port a bit to be sure it is tuned good. Ask Joe if he can punch in the numbers to see what would happen if you did take an inch off everywhere. Good luck, and I'm gonna follow this to see how it turns out, so keep posting with the outcome, and get pics! Did you get that scar tissue when you got your vagina installed? Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 I had something similar happen... Except my box was a builder mistake. He added a half inch or full inch to every dim. I ended up using a hammer to bend metal, then using lithium grease and very precise kicks / aligning then re kicking, for about 3 hours to get mine in.... But from what I'm reading yours can't get in the trunk. Try taking apart your whole back seat and rest deck and coming in from the front? Impalalpine Posted October 9, 2013 Author Report Posted October 9, 2013 I tried all kinds of shoving and twisting to try and get it in. I would need to bend some pretty structural pieces of the trunk to fit it. I am willing to build a new box anyways so that I can fiberglass the inside this time. It just needs to be an ever so slightly smaller box for the same subs. GM designed the back seat access of the impala to be essentially worthlessly small. Im not willing to cut it because of car seat connections Build's consist of: 2004 Chevy Impala : Pioneer--------------------- DEH-X8600bs Soundqubed/AQ------ Q4-120 Rockford Fosgate---- Punch-500.4 Soundqubed/AQ----- Q1-3500D.1 Alpine----------------- 6.5's & 6x9's Subs: TBA All Knukonceptz and SHCA wire and rca's Home Music Setup (4) Soundqubed HDS200 15's in two separate 15.5 cubic foot enclosures tuned to 31 hrz --- XM radio hardwire Updates coming all the time on both builds n8ball2013 "bullshit. Raptorman Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 I don't know how close you are to having it in, but round over the edges. Haha believe it or not that has made it so I could get a box in a friends trunk before. Wouldn't fit with edges square. Then rounded them over, boom, bitch was in. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid.
