finkster Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Can we get the obvious out of the way and hook a 6x9 up to the head unit directly without using the amp. DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living
fatbelly123 Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 If i hook the 6x9 up to the hu then it wont be loud. I've tried switching the rcas from the front to channel 3 and 4. and r/sw to channel 1 and 2. and now the front speakers only play bass but the 6x9's are playing vocals and bass. I'm confused
john253a Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 to start with check all the speakers on another source, like a home radio or friends car then check them from the h/u (you can skip ^ and test straight on h/u and if all works then all is ok) that way you can elimate the speakers as the fault, and the h/u as not producing the signal reconect speakers to amp and check all are on full pass, bass boost off, gain about 1/8-1/4 up if the same, as before switch rca's around and see what changes, if it changes from ch1/2 to ch3/4 then check the h/u rya settings or what they are if nothing changes see if you can borrow a friend 4ch or yours on there car
Miguels Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 so you switch the RCA and now the other set are playing the highs? its the HU. one RCA out put is set up for subs. see if you can change the setting and if not get a y splitter my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
afrakes Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Why not skip all the trouble an get a RCA splitter, run both channels off the same signal source, problem solved! Unless there is a real problem with ur amp/speakers. In which case u r out 20 bux and know where ur problem lies. If it works all ur losin out on is your fader/balance settings on ur h/u. Then set the head units rear chanel to rear NOT subwoofer. truthsayer

So to fix that, there would be a setting to toggle the rear output setting. What model is your source unit? Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
