Austin Loveless Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Im building a box for my 18s and Im not sure how big like width wise of 45s I should cut for the corners of the box. Probably a stupid question I was thinking 3-4 inches but wasn't sure
OrzechNJ Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 some ppl say that 45s dont make any difference.. but yea 3 inches would be enough.. also make sure that width of the port is not smaller in the corner if you have slot ported box... sometimes Loud is NOT pretty Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over.
Austin Loveless Posted October 10, 2013 Author Report Posted October 10, 2013 If anything itll be a little bracing in the corners but how the box is designed none of them need to be in the port
n8ball2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 45s are junk Imo. Especislly if you dont design and account for their displacement. They do not add any structurall strength when the corner is the strongest part of your box to begin with THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
CleanSierra Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 But what about ALL that extra air flow N8? Austin, I agree with others, 45s in the corners are not needed. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
pioneerforlife Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 i dont think 45's are absolutly necessary but in some applications they can help. i personally would not use them because they take up extra air space in the box but thats just me. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
