Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 amp = CT sounds 125.4 comp's = CT pro 6.5's Rated at 150 RMS to the passive cross over. Coleman says they can handle slightly more then rated reliably on a daily basis. My question is... To have a single set of these in my doors on a bridged 125.4 (250 watts per door) which is 100 more then rated power. Tuned with the dd1 to -0db, maybe even turned the gain down farther once i take a listen and see how bad they are straining to take the power. (lots of headroom) Or put in some kicks with a second set of these. Tuned with the dd1 to -5db, each set getting the full 125 watts instead of a very conservative "250" watts. (no headroom but less strain on equipment) option 1)Pro's of kicks... Maybe louder? Less equipment failure because they are being given rated. Cons of kicks... Im tall 6'3 in a honda accord with EH legroom at best, So kicks would hurt my leg room. Kicks would also hurt the wallet more by about $400 after its all said and done. option 2) pros of non kicks. Less cost, keeping leg room, better "SQ" <--- debatable. Cons of non kicks...Maybe less overall volume? My current issue is i do want more volume overall from my mid/highs. But this option would also cost less overall. But could also be pushing the limits of these comps. What would you guys do in this situation? Both are 100% possible before my show in december. And both are tempting. Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Report Posted October 10, 2013 5'11, leg room is overrated Typical basshead statement. Especially one with a wall in his vehicle. Legroom is semi over rated... But i enjoy it for sure. Im thinking about having removable kicks... So when i go on long drives, ill just take them out and put them in the back seat, tape up the ends of the wires and put my stock kicks back in. I do drive from texas to florida twice a year. And ive felt lack of legroom even with my stock set up after about 9 hours of driving.
