JesseyMclame
So I've got a 2000 chevy S-10, big 3, all 0 gauge ran, 260 mechman alt, deka intimidator up front and stinger spv 70 in rear. running a DC 2.0k at 1 ohm. So before the HO alt, my voltage would drop to low 10s, and now, since i put in the alt, my voltage still drops to low 10s. Almost like there was no difference. Is there like a stock regulator or something that is preventing the HO alt from charging properly ? Or did I do something wrong ? All grounds are perfect, all connections are soldered, I'm at a loss right now. Also the alt gets hot, Quick. Also voltage regulator was JUST replaced. ALSO, there is no chassis ground. Just frame ground and engine ground for the batt. Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. Amps - (4) Crossfire C5 1700D's, MTX Thunder 5604(mids), PPI Art 300.2 (tweets) Batts - 4 91ah rear batts, 50ah batt up front. Subs - 2 Crossfire XSv2 18's Alt - Singer 330A Front stage - Random JL & Eclipse mids, Eclipse tweets

JesseyMclame
maybe u have loose on belt ? No, the belt is just as tight as it was with the oem alt. Which is tight. Kyblack76
Dc2k at 1 ohm should be able to be ran off stock junk. Clipped and all IMHO. Something is wrong. Way wrong. 10's??? Kyblack76
Seeing 10's, to me, says the alt isn't even turning on. With a Mechman 270, you should not even see battery rest levels, full tilt, at idle. Soccerballzs
You may need to run a chassis ground. May have bad alternator. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
JesseyMclame
How did you set your gains? Are you playing clean music? How are you measuring voltage? Where are you measuring voltage? set with DD-1, clean music via USB, and measuring voltage up front with DMM and rear batt with stinger volt meter. Dc2k at 1 ohm should be able to be ran off stock junk. Clipped and all IMHO. Something is wrong. Way wrong. 10's??? Would make me not even drive it. Yeah someone told me it should be able to be ran at stock. Idk wtf is going on. Did you fully charge your battery before you installed the alternator? I did, yes. You may need to run a chassis ground. May have bad alternator. I added a chassis ground, it definitely did help, but I'm still dropping to like 11s or high - mid 10s. Batts are charging at 13.8 - 14.2. (14.2 when its cold, 13.8 warm.) Also, the voltage regulator was JUST replaced BY mechman. Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs.
