fecupe2001 Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Some of you may know me, and you guys know i ALWAYS build box after box after box on my explorer, but now is time for me to wall it and actually make her loud for a change!!! anyways, i´ve built only 3 walls before, and all of them were built outside and slid in thru the hatch, this is going to be my first shell, and hopelly, first 160 car!!! Anyways, call me a noob, a moron or whatever you want lol, i honestly feel like one right now, i´m finishing with the design, but, i don´t have a clue on how the hell can i build the shell, i stole this pics from jason myers wall just for a reference: First, you have to start with the floor, no problems there Then, you have to build up the sides of the shell, HOW THE HELL DO YOU ATTACH THEM??? i cant fit my drill on the side of that panel in order to screw it with the bottom one, maybe screwing it "angleing" (lol sorry about the english) and then removing the head of the screw with a saw? i even thought about taking the side windows out just to been able to screw the sides lol And then, same problem with the top of the shell, how the hell do i screw it to the side panels??? fecupe2001 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 thought about the kreg jig but cant find it here at panama, shipping would be to expensive from the US, also, im doing 90 degree angle iron for sure, thought about it since the beggining, but, its going to be attached to the second layer that would be inside of that first side layer or panel; almost no one use the 90 degree angle iron or kreg jig on their builds, i´m definitely missing something here!! Thanks a lot for the input by the way I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. pa-pa-platypus Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 thats a basic kreg jig.. they make fancier ones.. basically it does this notice the little holes at the top and bottom of the baffles.. thats where you screw into then go back over with wood putty (or whatever you choose to) later on to fill it in this is how we have used angle iron to secure them as well This isn't teeball. fecupe2001 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 i was actually looking at it right now, beast!!!!!!! Once again, shipping would be too expensive and would take AT LEAST 2 weeks and i want to start now, like i said before, maybe screwing it with a similar angle to the kreg jig and then cutting the excede of the screw´s head? like i said, looking for options, cant believe everyone uses kreg jig lol I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
