Fuse size for Singer ALT

Thinking about getting a Singer 350A alternator but wanted to make sure on my fuse size. Being a 350 alt I am assuming that I will need a 350A fuse running from the alt to the first battery and then also a 350 on the way back to my second battery. Is this correct here or am I over thinking this. Will be running a XS Power 3400 up front and a 3100 in the back (will get a second 3100 in the back when I can) Two runs of 1/0 guage off the alt to the battery and two runs from the front battery to the back. Sky High OFC in a 07 Trailblazer. Thanks.

dont fuse the alt charging lead, there isnt really a point. Fuses dont protect from voltage spikes.

But fuse the power runs at WHAT THE WIRE CAN HANDLE. If you have a 400a alternator, and 1 run of 1/0 CCA that can only carry 200a, if you put 400a of fusing in that CCA you are going to end up melting the jacket, and burning/shorting something.

in your case of having 1/0 OFC, use a 250a or 300a fuse per run of wire. If the wire is over 20ft long, use a 250a fuse.

You aren't fusing for voltage spikes, but for a possible short.

I dont fuse the alt lead either.

I just make damn sure its outta the way.

Runs front to back, are fused at both ends, as close to bat as poss

ok so for what I have I need to have two runs from the alt to the 3400, no fuse. two runs from the 3400, fused about 10 to 12 inches, to the 3100 in back, fused 10 to 12 inches before the 3100 and then fuse from the 3100 to the two amps. So basically a fuse on each run within 10 to 12 inches from each battery, (two fuses on each run) and then a fuse from the back battery to each amp correct?
