No, had a couple of set-backs, and working O.T. But will have a long Good Friday Weekend and am planning on using that time to Progress forward.

Sorry I took so long guys, I had some pressing issues that took me away from my build for a while but i did manage to get some work done this weekend and here is the LATEST UPDATE>

First i will start by showing how to build something that is a great help in painting and fiber glassing. A Turn Table or platform. All you really need is a Lazy Sussy from Home Depot and some MDF.

Screw the Lazy Sussy in between the smaller MDF pieces and then Brad nail them to the bigger pieces of MDF (the bigger pieces are for stability. Size does not matter but the bigger the piece, the more stable the platform).

Now Put your rotating platform in the middle of your work table and put another flat board on top. You dont need to nail this one down but if you want it to be secure you can.

And there you have it. A rotating work table.

Now back to the Project.

When I left of, the Panel was completely primered and the pod sections were painted the color of the car.

So i took this opportunity to stock up on my painting supplies. I'm Using all House of Kolors for the custom paints and pearls. The same Base coat for the pods, and The Euro 2020 for the Awsome Clear coat.

Now i tape up the Speaker Pod section and give it 3 good heavy coats of the House of Kolor Jet Black Base coat.

Then after about an hour of curing, I sand down the Base coat with 1000 grit wet sandpaper (careful not to break through the paint, but if you do, use a air brush and the same base coat to cover those areas.)

This step is not needed in you everyday run of the mill project but i am going for that Ultimate Show Room Quality Finish and the flatter the surface, the more Glass effect you get.

Once she is completely flat and clean with Wax and Grease remover, I then give her 2-3 coats of the House of Kolor dry Pearl and Ice Pearl with some House of Kolor Intercoat Pearl and Flake Karrier. Both pearls and Purple.

This is where the rotating table comes into play. Instead of walking around the table to spray evenly, you just rotate the platform as you spray.

And after about 15 to 20 minutes I give it 2 very wet coats of that Euro 2020 Clear coat.

Now i let it dry for about 2 to 3 hours before handling it.

here is the effect I wanted.

When No light hits it opposite you or the light source is behind you , The Panel looks like Black Glass

But when the light source is opposite you and you look at it in an angle, you see the Purple Ice pearls.

and if you see it in a more faded light or twilight. you get a black blueish hue.

Now i will let it completely cure and settle for about 10 days before it wet sand it and (give it a flow coat of clear) and buff it to a perfect Show Room Shine.
