KiKaZz74
I have a 1997 dodge dakota sport 5.2l 4wd and as anyone who owns one knows. The gas mileage is shit. I'm looking to upgrade to a electric fan to save me some gas. I'm not finding any kits tho. Not looking to spend more than $200 for everything unless its impossible. But what's everyone recommend? I saw someone say a ford taurus kit worked but I'd like some more input. Thanks guys. Tarball
you can piece one together. I recommend a dual speed or dual fan kit. That way you can tap one fan/speed for temp and the other when your AC compressor kicks in. I converted my S10 to eFan with a temperature kit, a couple of relays and a junkyard fan. Just measure out when you need and browse the local scrap yard. Edit: My mileage is still crap but I haul around a few hundred pounds Subs, box, amps and wire. KiKaZz74
Oh I should mention. My ac doesn't work. Bad leak so my compressor just does the hellacious noise when it kicks in. Turboelky
not sure if you've got your electric fan set up yet or not. But keep in mind, while you will gain maybe 1-2mpg and power, you'll be pulling 30-40 amps of power just for the fan/s .
Miguels
the amp draw gets lower once the fans are spinning.. usually the draw spike happens when they just turn on my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Turboelky
I was actually talking continuos load. Some electric fans can pull upwards of 90 amps on hard start! Only reason I haven't went to a electric fan in my TBSS is because the electrical draw. Once I get that mechman ^^^ I'll be doing that upgrade
KiKaZz74
Well thats good to know. Maybe ill just have to keep clutch fan. It sounds like its going out thoughm maybe get a plastic blade or something not so massively heavy. Any ideas on that?
