3 way time alignment.

So I'm doing a 3 way active system plus sub. Is there any fully active head units for use with 3 way plis subs. So 4 sets of pre outs. Only one I've ever seen was that 1100 dollar pioneer stage 4 head unit. Is that the only one available. What other choices do I have. What kind of processors can do this.

Any modern 8-channel DSP will handle that system layout. MS-8, 360.3, Bit one, PS-8, etc. Those don't need a fancy head unit, so you can just buy the minimum features you need and let the DSP do the rest.

Like he said ^ get all the options you like on the headunit and put your money into a DSP. Mosconi 6to8 are what I use in most of my installs.

There are so precious few 4 way active HU. The p99 is the only recent one that I can think of.

The Clarion DRZ9255 is another. You'll have to find it used.

There's also the HX-D2, but I think that's just a Euro version of the 9255.

I've had both the 99 and the Clarion. Both amazing. I preferred the 99, but it comes at a price.

I run the Kenwood DNX9980HD with no problems ... Simple, sweet, easy to control, and gets the job done !!!

External processors are nice ... but needs constant attention that most every day listening folks just don't have time for ...
