Hodges
My nephew wants to do a low buck wall build and the Soundstream Tarantula T4-15" subs are on sale for $149 shipped, so for $600 we could get all 4 15"s..we are not looking to set records or compete..just want to do a little project and the price seems right on those subs..The question I keep asking is why are they so cheap? What do you guys think? wast of money or go for it?
roscoe1129
IMO they are good subs for the money. Nothing special but better than alot of subs out there in the same price range. Hodges
About to put the order in for the amps and subs.. 4 15" Soundstream Tarantula subs ($149 shipped each) and 2 Hifonics Brutus BXI2006D amps ($235 each).. Plan on running 2 subs off of each amp, dual 1 ohm subs into a single 1 ohm load...subs rated at 1000w rms, amp rated at 2000rms on a mono 1 ohm load.. so splitting the 2000w between the 2 subs should be about right. Now what kind of alt/wiring/battery upgrades do I need to look into for running 4000W RMS? This so far is planed on going into a 99 Caravan, but I have a few other car options too. I would like to order these subs asap before they go off sale. Anyone see anything wrong with this setup? Give me your thoughts and opinions please..Thanks
sean 371
If I were doing a budget system thats probably the exact combination id go with. Do it! Although I would avoid using a caravan if possible...what are your other vehicle options? A couple links to some box builds: Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI, Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150 My own car builds (current setup --- under construction): Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors Subwoofer Wall

TechSys
I would consider 1 amp to drive all the subs over 2 amps per pair of subs, especially if all the subs are going to be in a common chamber. The amps need to be tuned exactly the same (if in a common chambered enclosure) And a caravan can get pretty damned loud.
