Nubcakeninja
I know its a mixture between alts and batts for how much amp power you can run, but im just curious as to how much a singer 350a alt can push out. like how many batteries can i have that it can safely charge them all and how much power can i run off of that alt? also im wondering as to how man 0 gauge wires should i run from the alt to the battery to get the full extent of its power output? any input is much appreciated. 1995 Blazer lt 4dr 2 t1d412s 1 t2500.1bd 4 polk audio door speakers 2 dash speakers(coming soon) 1 amp to run my mids and highs(coming soon)
HHR Ed
I like to match Alternator output to amp hours of the batteries. You can exceed this but it will increase charge times. So a 350A alt would be good to charge up to a total of 350aH of batteries. So you can do 3 G31 batteries that are about 110aH each. Depending on the batts, that can be good from 9000-15,000W. TRON
You could do a rough estemate using ohms law. 350a x 14.4v = 5040w. <- but I would nevery try run that without at least one extra battery. Now that doesnt account for eficiencies, resistance, temperature,...blah blah blah. Dont forget, that part of the 350a is going to power your vehicles electrical needs. Easy way to find out how much is subtract your stock alternators output. Again VERY rough estemate. Running 1/0 wire: It would be safe to say that two runs of positive to the batteries from the alternator would be enough. Kyblack76
Im running a SINGER 350, currently, on a XS3400 under the hood and 4 XS D-7500's Lester is right, Once I lean on it, and I'm pulling from battery rest or under for a spell, it does take a bit of time to creep it back up when I turn it down and let it regain. But, not to long. I want 1 more 7500. Goal is duals, and 10- 7500's in the future. Bump4life
i run a cool ACTUAL 7k plus with 2 xsd3100s and my singer 350. both batts are in the back and i have 2 + runs KNU OFC from alt to bats in back. you need batteries or caps or something to create a buffer for the instantaneous loads so the alt can keep up. to answer your question, you can run a lot of power. but battery power enables you to run the power. the alternator just keeps up with it and enables faster recharge times. Kyblack76
Also, I have 3 runs. 1/0 ofc. One off the alt to rear bank. Second run off alt to front bat. 2 runs off front bat to rear, and the one off the alt for a total 3. I had just 2,& added the third. Saw no improvement. Added a ground run front to rear. 1/0 ofc. Again no gain 2 -1/0 ofc frame to rear bank buss bar grounds. Just FYI.
