rockFord_Expedition Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Possibilitites: The amp is a POS Voltage is dropping too low/insufficient electrical Amp is getting a dirty signal Gains are set too high Could be any combination of the 4. The last 2 can be fixed by setting the gains properly. I know you said you did it with a DMM and a test tone. Maybe the test tone was recorded way lower than the music you are listening to. moore3941 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Report Posted November 13, 2013 yes i did big three but forgot to check voltage before it is reading 14.80 volts at an idle and it is an old battery and stock size and according to autozone the battery and alt are good
