IDK because of small pic.. ground doesn't look great but not bad either. Is it loose maybe? give it a good tug and nothing should come loose or wiggle.

Possibilitites:

  • The amp is a POS
  • Voltage is dropping too low/insufficient electrical
  • Amp is getting a dirty signal
  • Gains are set too high

Could be any combination of the 4. The last 2 can be fixed by setting the gains properly. I know you said you did it with a DMM and a test tone. Maybe the test tone was recorded way lower than the music you are listening to. Is it a "good" test tone?

Edit: Try backing the gain down a hair at a time and see if it fixes it.

Edit: Check your connections to see if anything wiggled loose. Just in case.

Did you measure your voltage before after the big 3 upgrade?

How about since this problem developed?
