rockFord_Expedition Posted November 13, 2013 Report Share Posted November 13, 2013 Possibilitites: The amp is a POS Voltage is dropping too low/insufficient electrical Amp is getting a dirty signal Gains are set too high Could be any combination of the 4. The last 2 can be fixed by setting the gains properly. I know you said you did it with a DMM and a test tone. Maybe the test tone was recorded way lower than the music you are listening to. Is it a "good" test tone? Edit: Try backing the gain down a hair at a time and see if it fixes it. Did you measure your voltage before after the big 3 upgrade? How about since this problem developed?
