Brian617 Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 The walmart Everstart Maxx was tested by Consumer reports and beat Die Hard, Interstate, and Napa in several group sizes. This was a standard battery, but if Walmart carries an AGM battery that follows the line in quality, I certainly wouldn't rule it out because of your perception of Walmart.
TeamHT Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 lol Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Brian617 Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I checked the ratings, and based on test results Consumer Reports rated the Kirkland Signature 12866 (Sam's Club) first in the group 65 size. The next 3 in descending order were: DieHard Gold 50865 (North), DieHard Advanced Gold 50765 , and EverStart Maxx-65S (South). Notice a store brand for $85 beat a DieHard Advanced Gold AGM. Unfortunately, these results are from 2011 and I don't see that Sam's still has Kirkland Signature. But it goes to show being brand loyal may not get you the best battery.
Sky Posted December 9, 2013 Author Report Posted December 9, 2013 I ended up buying the Diehard advanced gold AGM for $155. World of a difference and I haven't even put my d3100s in. 99 F-150 Build Log
