bumpinTL364
Well, I'll make this as simple as possible: To run 2 500watt subs, should I buy a 1000watt amp and wire them in series, or get a 500watt amp and wire them in parallel? Is there really any difference (besides the obvious difference in impedance for different wiring setups)?? Thanks masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. BASShead12
You need to know the specifics of the amps. What is the impedance they are rated for? (4,2,1, .5 ohms). Also the impedance of the subs and if they have dual voice coils? BASShead12
Also what n8ball said. I have 2 dual 4ohm subs wired to 1 ohm on a 1 ohm stable amp. bumpinTL364
So n8, what you're saying is that running in parallel means I should buy an amp with double to power. Impedence really wasn't the issue here, obviously I'd run something so that if I had to wire in parallel I'd get 4ohm woofers and 1 or 2 ohm woofers to run in series...thanks guys! masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. jarrius
As n8 said. Look at your subs ohms and see what your options of wiring are. From there add the rms of the subs together so 500+500=1000. Now that you have done that and know what your options for ohm loads are pick a amp that will do 1000w rms at the ohm you can run at. For example if you have 2 dual 2ohm subs you can wire at .5ohms(don't recommend doing) or 2ohms(best choice.) so you would need to find a amp that puts out 1k at 2ohms. Same if you had dual 4ohm subs you would need a amp that puts out 1k at 1ohm. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

bumpinTL364
Ok guys, like I said I'm not sure about equipment yet, but I'm looking at SA-12s, VVXv2s, IVXv2s, and anything you guys could suggest that would fit into about 4.5 cubes and run me around $150-$200, and then whatever amp would be able to power them handily masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife.
