Keveeno Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Is there any difference between in decibel levels with having the port centered, on top, or on the driver side facing forward? If so what is best for gaining db's?

Keveeno Posted November 23, 2013 Author Report Posted November 23, 2013 Is there a difference as to where the port is located when using termlab? For example, if the port was placed on the driver side in the wall, would that be louder then placing the port on top of the wall to hit higher numbers on termlab?
jk13 Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Depends on where the sensor is placed. And that depends on the class you are running in. Most run driver side port for passenger side metering. Static drops are my bag.

TeamHT Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Yes. In the exact same way speaker and port location and orientation in any enclosure can affect sound, response, score, and pressure. Different goals will have different ways of accomplishing them, so what's important is what you want to achieve. Like it's been said, different organizations will have different setups, so sensor location will also be factor. It's pretty common for most organizations and sensor location to score better with port on drivers side Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
