MTMustang7
I've been looking at some of your posts about polyfill and I'm wondering if it might work in my application. It seems like it's mainly used in sealed boxes but I've seen some in ported. I'm trying to improve my numbers and wonder if it's worth trying. The box made with 3/4 birch and is 14H x 32W x 26D and the front is doubled. The port is 5 1/2W x 12 1/2H but I don't remember how long it is. The port is in the middle of the box and makes a T at the end. I think it was tuned to about 36hz but I can't be positive without knowing the length of the port. Also the box is firing into the car and I still need to seal it off. Ray
Thats a mighty big box for t1's. Polyfil costs 5.00. I like to always try. If it sucks throw it back in the bag. recommendations per Rockford Fosgate say to use 2.25 cubes per sub including sub displacement and port volume so that's what i went with. i have 2 of them http://www.stevemead...f-system-build/ 2001 VW GTI with a 1.8T motor BIG 3 Pioneer AVH-4200DVD DOUBLE DIN HEAD UNIT 6 - 4 VOLT PREOUTS RF T1500-BDCP (running at 2 ohm) RF T400.4 RF T1 D212 x2 (in ported box) RF 1/0 TO 4 GAUGE distribution block x 2 all stinger wires 200a alternator (SINGER ALT) RF T2652-S (6.5 MID BASS AND 1" TWEETS in front and rear) KINETIC HC 800 BATTERY (Front) KINETIC HC 1200 BATTERY (BACK) 120ft of 1/0 stinger blue and clear matt 20ft of 4 gauge stinger blue and clear matt 30ft of 8 gauge stinger blue and clear matt 100ft of 12 gauge stinger speaker wire black

Give it a try and see what you think I'm not really worried about improving the sq. I'm mainly just looking for things I can do to maybe improve my score for when I compete. Ray
i think your score could improve with more vent area.. you have roughly 12 per cuft now. optical
I have been looking at doing a 4th order in my trunk with 2 12's My dimensions are 35 wide 13.5 height 37 top depth and 45 bottom depth. Is this enough internal volume for a 4th order? If not would 10's work better? Gross volume is a tad over 9 cubes
