Skax Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 well im sorta new to the sub thing and i recently bought 2 p3 15's and only have a 500 watt rockford pushing them and i have the subs bridged and it kicks my amp into protect mode or i guess it just cuts it out and i was wondering about purchasing a T2500-BD and i was just wondering since the 15's say they can take 1200 watts each will a 2500 amp blow them? 2002 Mustang GT Procharged Procharger P1SC Supercharger, 8psi Procharger Intercooler, Headers, Borla Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust, Mass Airflow Upgraded Fuel Injectors SCT Flash Chip (Excaliber II), Throttle Body, Lowering Springs, Carbon Fiber Hood -Front 275/40ZR17 -Rear 315/35ZR17 5.0 Short Shifter 3.55 Gears
hazestorm23 Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 They are actually only 600 watts RMS each 1200 max. You want to match the RMS rating so an amp that does around 1200 RMS depending on the final impedance you have . A t1500 should suffice but its all up to you . The subs can take a bit more if you have everything tuned right and no clipping.
hazestorm23 Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 And about the amp cutting out, you should check your wiring of subs and power wires make sure everything is OK and not touching another surface. The amp doesn't cut out because the subs have a higher RMS. You said you have them bridged right what is your final impedance?
alaskanzx5 Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Yeah the amp.sounds like it's going into protect because of to low impedance. I'm going to take a guess you have the dual 4 ohm o2 subs and wired to 1 ohm bridged on a 2 channel amp. I don't think there are that many 2 channel amps that cam handle 1 ohm bridged and doubt yours will. As for the t2500.1bdcp this put out close to 3500 rms. It will burn then up. Try the t1500.1bdcp or t1500.1bdcp t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
Skax Posted December 5, 2013 Author Report Posted December 5, 2013 ok i am just ganna do a p1000-bd and as for the subs i have them on a little 500 watt 1 channel fosgate amp right now and the subs are 2 p3 15's 2 ohms 2002 Mustang GT Procharged Procharger P1SC Supercharger, 8psi Procharger Intercooler, Headers, Borla Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust, Mass Airflow Upgraded Fuel Injectors SCT Flash Chip (Excaliber II), Throttle Body, Lowering Springs, Carbon Fiber Hood -Front 275/40ZR17 -Rear 315/35ZR17 5.0 Short Shifter 3.55 Gears
alaskanzx5 Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 pending how you have those subs wired your at .5 ohms. And a 1 channel amp can't be bridged. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
03 Xtreme Fosgate Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 The P1000.1 or T1000.1 would do great on those just be sure not to wire under 1 ohm. As stated above,it sounds like your wiring is wrong.. Which 500 watt RF amp do you have?
