oldsoundguy Posted January 3, 2017 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2017 Well after going back and forth with Soundqubed I decided to give it one more shot. I came home and mounted the sub inverted just so I could hear anything weird from the motor. I noticed that the leads on one side of the sub didn't have any Zip ties on them so I thought that might be it. I put a couple small zip ties on just like the other side and inverted the sub. It was making the same noise coming out of the port. I then put the DC sub back in and inverted it. It sounds amazing. So I told Soundqubed I was done with this 8 inch sub and what did they want me to do. I did send them the vid of the noise. It looks like something someone would want to steal. Seeing that I had a bunch of stuff show up today it seems like the perfect time to install some of it. I will take some pics and a vid tomorrow during the install. I am hoping to be able to get the CT sounds 5.25 set in this weekend if all goes well. Is it possible that the new sub is fine, but the spacer ring is causing the noise you hear? Screwing it into place may not seal it/hold it as tight as needed. I had it all screwed down and it still sounded like that. I also inverted the sub without the ring screwed it down and again still made the noise. But I am not ruling out install. I want to go out right now and do it but its cold as F out side right now.
