oldsoundguy
I have the dual 2 ohm speaker wired at 4 ohms for now just to break it in a little before I put it on the Rockford fosgate p1000x5. The amp should be here on Monday so for now its on the same amp and wired at 4 ohms like the RE audio was. I have to say at this level of power the RE sounded really good. The Soundqubed 8 sounds good also but its real stiff right now and not getting near enough power so I don't expect it to play very low yet. Cant wait until Monday and being able to hook it up to a better amp and wired to 1ohm. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Played it on the way to work and home. It sounds good but the sub needs more power. When I got home I wired the sub to 1 ohm. Damn thats what it needed. Much better on the Kenwood amp. The Kenwood doesnt have a 1 ohm rating and I am not sure if its 1 ohm stable but it sounds good. I only played about half a song on it and I really don't have the gain set right. I just did a 1/4 turn on the gain and that's it. The good thing about the new Rockford Fosgate P1000x5 it has the CLEAN system so I will be able to set the source level of the HU to the amp and set the gain on all channels. No DD-1 required. I just checked my email and my amp delivery has been changed from Mon to Today. So I should have the amp installed this weekend and have that little sub on 800W of clean power. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

ShadeTreeMechanic
It has the Clean system that doesn't need a dd1? You will have to show us how that works. oldsoundguy
I just installed the amp (Temp) today. I put it in the same location as the SQ 4 channel amp under the pass seat. I will not keep it here but I wanted to install it and set it up. The CLEAN system makes it easy because they give you a CD with test tones on it just like the DD-1. You play the track set your HU clip point to a red light on the amp. Then you turn the gain up until a blue light that corresponds to that channel which will turn red when turned up too high. Back it off until the blue light is on and your done. I ordered up a set of twisted 6 channel RCAs for my amp along with 20' of power wire and 50' of speaker wire. I am going to mount the amp to a board and mount it in the back by the sub. I needed longer power, rca and speaker wire to make the move instead of splicing everything. I will be able to listen and check the amp for heat because I left my pass seat out so I can keep an eye on it. I will post pics when I start getting everything mounted up. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Did some changing around with the way I had my speakers wired up. I had the 6.5s on the front channel and the tweets on the rear. I just couldn't tune it to my taste so I decided to change it up. I am now using the Crossovers that came with the RE audio xxx set. Then I am running each set bridged off 1-2 and 4-3. So each set is now getting more power but is now playing in their designated range. It sounds much better. Now all I have to do is get rid of the rats nest of wires under my pass seat and get that amp mounted in a box with the crossovers. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
