oldsoundguy Posted June 29, 2014 Author Report Posted June 29, 2014 So reset the gains and played with the system a bit. Had a buddy over but he doesn't like the highs at all. I thought it sounded good but I had to turn down the gain a bit for him. I will reset the gain again and adjust it through the head unit EQ. Loud though and sounds real good. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

Lol, hell i never cared what it sounded like for someone else, long as it sounds good to me, that's all that mattered. But in all seriousness it might be the tweeters, personally i never liked the silk dome tweeters, they just never seem to have that natural sound for me. But i guess that's why they make so many types of tweets, everyone has their own preference. truthsayer

oldsoundguy Posted June 29, 2014 Author Report Posted June 29, 2014 ok well we have problems. I went out this morning to reset the gains on the deck. I set everything to flat EQ wise and hooked up the sub amp. For some reason now the sub amp is distorting on the DD-1 at volume 32 instead of 37 like yesterday. The 4 channel amp doesn't distort at all at 40 full volume. So I set the gains with it at 32 and now the front stage is way louder than the sub. I set the 4 channel at 0db and the sub amp at -5db Ok so that's one problem. The other is noise. I am getting noise from the 4 channel amp with everything on and the RCAs unplugged. So I am getting noise from the amp itself. Then when I plug the RCAs back in it amplifies that hiss even louder. I took a vid so I will try to get it uploaded soon. Bugging the crap out of me. I even tried to turn the gains on the amp all the way down and it still makes noise. When the volume is at 0 there is no noise when RCAs hooked up but hit 1 and bam its there. I am not sure why the deck is amplifying the hiss. I also noticed some engine whine now through the speakers. Wow what a pain in my ass. lol I traded my other HU to a buddy of mine for a plunge router but I told him I want it back to reinstall and see if it is the deck or the amp causing the problem. I will get this figured out though because I cant stand that noise. Oh and there is no noise coming through the sub just the mids and tweets. Is it normal to have some noise from the amp with a speaker hooked up with no RCA's ???? Its very faint and I am sure I wouldn't even notice it but damn hook up the RCA's and it gets louder. Did you by chance on the first adjustment have sub level at 0, and now you have increased the sub level. truthsayer
oldsoundguy Posted June 29, 2014 Author Report Posted June 29, 2014 This one is just the tweet hooked up with no RCA's and you can hear noise. It does this on all four channels This is the tweet with the RCA hooked up then you can hear me remove it and plug it back in. This is the noise throught the speakers all hooked up to the amp. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy Posted June 29, 2014 Author Report Posted June 29, 2014 Just took out the head unit to recheck my wiring. I wanted to make sure the remote amp turn on was wired correctly and it was. I don't really know whats going on. It could be noise from the amp and this HU is boosting it somehow. I have it pulled out and I unplugged all the RCA's and still had the slight hiss from the amp. I am going to reinstall the pioneer and see if the noise goes away or not. It could be an amp problem so we will see. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
