ReaperX Posted December 5, 2013 Report Share Posted December 5, 2013 Hey guys, Short history : Im starting my project on my ford focus hatch, the trunk isnt too big and the car doesnt have much power, so size and weight are crucial to me (I dont wanna hurt perfomance too much neither loose all my trunk) I want SPL! There is no such thing as too much SPL So, my main target is SPLxWeight, therefore I need the most SPL I cant get, with the lesser weight About SQ, I've heard a old P3 12" sub and I've found its SQ quite satisfying for me, so anything equal or above is OK WIth SPLxWeight in mind I've found myself between 2 12" subs: Alpine Type X 12" or Rockford P3 12" (new model) I will be using two of them I dont care if the Type X is better sounding, as Ive heard the P3 and that is enough SQ for me, but I want SPL, so: which one will be louder? I know TypeX is double the price, but if it pounds considerably more I can pay for it no problem (RF T2s are out of the equation because they're too heavy and require a bigger box) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have a buddy who has a single P3 15'" SEALED in the trunk of his WRX and it is taking 1200 watts rms all day everyday and cracked his rear view mirror in two places the third time he ran full tilt. I know your talking about 12"s but if his system smashes that hard with a sealed box and one 15...
