I owned one, clamped 670 at 2.3 ohms. Clamping isn't accurate though. Also was dropping to 12.5. Also there are about 132 threads here about thermal issues with that amp.

Edit; I had thermal issues too /edit

Also I dropped the same in voltage with a 1500 watt amp that does do rated.

The Kenwood might do rated but its horribly innefiecent and has heat issues.

Face it, you bought a poorly designed and built amp. I didn't want to admit it either but I accepted it and moved on.

If you are smart you will listen to these guys and do yourself a favor and buy something else.

No one us hating here. We are calling a spade a spade. The amp is junk /end

Don't take it personal, you didn't build the thing. Kenwood made really nice home stereo stuff in the 70s. They make nice head units and HF transeivers. Amps, not so much.

Loved my DDX712, had it for years (until button plate failed me!) I've had two of their amps over the years, one of which a buddy at work is still running. Can't recall models but I can say that both did get very hot, and were on the high current consumption. I swear to god that little kenwood dropped V more than the Orion2500D I replaced it with
