bigsausagepizza
When I got the amp for my mids/highs I got a cheap PAC LC-2 line output converter from a local electronics store. It works alright, but with the low power output of my stock Nav I have to have the amp gain almost/all the way up (set with test tones and dmm/ear). Besides being able to keep the gain lower, which might reduce some noise, is it worth switching to something active like the audiocontrol LC2i(~$110 w/remote)? My sub amp is running off the factory subwoofer output tapped from the HU connector with some female molex pins, so I don't need the bass restoration stuff. 2008 Subaru WRX STI K&N Typhoon Intake Invidia Polished Stainless 3" turbo back with cat Cobb Accessport Dyno tune from Kaizen Tuning 320awhp 330ft-lb awtq MTX 421D Sub amp American Bass SQ900 Highs/Mids amp Sundown Audio SD-2 10 D4 JL Audio XR653-CS 3-way Components 3sixty.2 Second Skin Damplifier Pro Custom fiberglass wheel well enclosure Transmission Line quasi-floor enclosure http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/forum/13-member-rides-builds-show-off-your-whip-show-off-your-system/ Bill Fitzmaurice TLAH line-array hifi towers 9 Goldwood 4" mids (each) 12 Goldwood 1/2" tweeters (each) NAD 1020 Preamp MiniDSP 2x4 Balanced processor Thorens TD166mkII Turntable Hafler DH-200 Amplifier http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/192638-line-array-hifi-tower-build/ https://www.facebook.com/HolyMountainGlass
bcbrassard
You have noise thru your system? And yes a better LOC might reduce that & your gains. Need it DD-1 also to have it all set up properly.
B-Large
I have an lc2i with remote connected to my vw and also just helped a buddy set one up. I connected it to front door woofer leads right out of the factory amplifier and have good output with my Rockford t-1000 with zero gain for my sub. Never used it with Mids/highs and have never had a standard LOC but i dont think i could go without it after using it in three different vehicles with good results. B-Large
where is the knob set to on your LOC? I usually run mine all the way up on the lc2i. But if your asking what it controls its output voltage to the amplifier and not a bass boost. I set mine up on full and use the knob only to take away if necessary.
