How's my electrical?

Quick question to all...

So, I've got an SAZ-3500 on 2 Zv4 15's in my TC. I dream of the day when I can jump up to 5K or NS-1, but sadly I can't even make things work properly w/ my 3500.. Or so I think? I need some input on how you guys feel about the electrical system I have, and the results and experiences that I'm having with it.

Here are the upgrades:

DC Power 270XP HOA.

XS Power D3400 under the hood.

(2) XS Power D3100's in the rear.

Big 3 upgrade.

Audio Technix 1/0 gauge wiring. (1 run).

I've got this whole thing, head unit and amplifier alike, tuned w/ the DD-1.

When I get up to 70%, to 100% volume w/ this thing, I start to experience a decent voltage drop. I'll start to dip down to the 12's.. sometimes even low 12's if I play full tilt for more than 30 seconds... I really can't sit idle and crank this thing for more than a minute without being screwed.

Does this seem accurate? Does it make sense that this would be the type of drops and power depletion that I should be experiencing?

Thanks!

clipping will drop your voltage. which db track did you use for the dd-1? 0, -5, -10?

Key word is at idle.

Yeah, at idle your alternator is putting out little to no output because it isn't spinning fast. That set up looks pretty decent to say the least. I would say 1-2 more batteries and possibly a quality cap to level out the voltage drops. I would also suggest, when you go to a 5k or NS-1, look into the possibility of a bigger alt, and definetely doubling up your power and ground wires too.

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

I have noticed this with my system. I was doing some testing with it. I noticed that if I play clean ( no clipping light on the gain knob) then voltage drop is minimal. If I send it into clipping the voltage can drop into the 12s easy.

bro he has a dc 270xp lol. 200 amps at idle.

I wish I could answer the DD-1 track question. I had somebody else do it for me... the only thing I can really say about that process is that the tracks were uploaded onto an iPod and tested through that. The CD was MIA. Also, I'm really thinking my head unit is the weakest link in all of this... the pre-out voltage is supposedly 4V, but where the gain ended up being set on the 3,500 according to the DD-1... I'm thinking it falsified that. Definitely the next investment as well as more wire to do another run. I wonder if I'm clipping... I'd like to think not. Especially since the Z's never change temperature whatsoever. Ambient temperature if not cooler.

The XP series is designed for brute force idle output.. which helps.

ipod via aux 3.5mm cable can clip at full volume. my ipod video was fine at 99% volume. but 100% clipped a bit. if its through usb then thats fine.

ask the man that tuned it for you. ask if he used 0, -5, or -10db. -5 is recommended. -10 is too much.
