Kylemay1 Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Ive finally decided to put 4 of the sa 12's in the back of my blazer firing up with a port firing toward the hatchback. Im gonna be running 2 amps but i only have 1 at the moment and its the rockford 1000 watt power series mono. It will be pushing 2 of the subs while i still have to buy anothet for the other 2. But my real question is what demensions to build the box. Considering they will all be in same box and not individually chambered im not sure how the specs work. And not sure if it will be better for a square port or a line port and how do i know how big to make them and how long to have them
fritosaregood Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Don't you want the amp to push and pull the sub though? seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
Joe X Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Like this: 8 cubic feet net and around 110 square inches of port area, common chamber.
Kylemay1 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Yea that pic their is basically what im aiming for. You got all the specs for that? Deminsions an port length an width and all?
Joe X Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Need to know your max dimensions, amp model, tuning, I'm sure it will be a tight fit though.
Kylemay1 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Well the blazers at my dads house right now. Want be able to get the measurements till later this afternoon. I was trying for 4 15's but decided it was to tight a fit so i figured i had a better chance with 12's. I can fit them easily side by side. If air space becomes a problem can always go tallet box if have to. Gonna have a rockford 1000 power series on 2 and a sundown 1000 mono on other 2. Id like to be tuned around 35 to 40 hertz.
jarrius Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Do not use 2 different amps to power your subs. You will have cancelation between them if 2 subs receive more power then the other 2. Best bet would be to buy the same RF amp you have now or to just buy 1 bigger amp to run all 4 of them. I would recommend a soundqubed 2200 or saz 2500. We'll pretty much any 2-3k from soundqubed sundown dc RF lol 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
Kylemay1 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Dont understand the cancelation thing cause ive run 2 seperate amps before in the past and they did just fine. In competition.

n8ball2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Those seperate amps will not output the exact same power. They can cause issues if one set is moving moore thsn the other. In multi sub setups they should be ina single chamber box as well. And not to mention its ghetto. I dont do ghetto I hate ghetto. Do it right the first time.
