Dubstep
Hi everyone. I'm sort of a noob when it comes to audio but it really interests me and I've wanted a nice system for a while. I currently have a home cinema system that I bought from Currys, it's only 1000W but the speakers are loud enough for me, but the sub is pretty poor. I was wondering if someone could walk me through the basics of getting a small box in my room that I could hook up to my speakers that are in my PC. I'd probably be getting a Sundown SA-8 as they look and sound awesome. Thanks!
Skullz
Does the sub have a plate amp built in? 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
Dubstep
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not too sure about that - here is the sub that I'd like to have: http://www.amazon.com/SA-8-D2-Sundown-Series-Subwoofer/dp/B003ZWG25M
Krakin
Skullz was referring to your current subwoofer, is there an amplifier that is just for it? Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Dubstep
Oh right, sorry about that, as I said I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff. The sub is just.. plugged in to the actual system, just like the speakers, so I'm assuming so. Here's a picture: The sub is the thingy with the wood on the back. HomeAudioProject
Does it have a plug that goes to a power outlet? Or just the speaker cables, shown in the picture?
B-Large
Not to be negative but dont think you can power an sa-8 off of that "all in one system". If you want to add a decent sub look into self amplified home audio subwoofers within your budget, you will need one that has high level inputs since you don't have a sub pre-out. B-Large
An all in one rated at "1000 watts" for all six channels? I don't have experience with tlines but am doubting the capability to push that 8.
bumpinTL364
Forgot that he was wishing to power the sub off of this system…I actually looked into using a Dayton 6.5" sub for a t-line and they would make great woofers to do so with and don't require much power at all masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife.
