mrtopnotch561 Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 Is there any noticeable difference in performance between lets say a $8 dollar pair of rca's to a $20 dollar pair of rca's? or is it mainly just cosmetic difference? etc.
KickersintheTrunk Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 Nope not really, there are two types of RCA's, and as long as you are using the right one you will not get any noise in the system. Google it. Check out my Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/ologiic

mrtopnotch561 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Report Posted December 29, 2013 yes umm i guess i should have included in my original post.. lol if there are differences what could they be?
thefourth Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 There's normal RCA's and twisted pairs. Some amps require certain RCA's Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
hdorre Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I had KnuKonceptz Karma SS RCAs. Sure, they looked decent.. but when you hooked them up, you hear mainly ground noise. Tried grounding the RCAs, no luck. Tried rerouting them, no luck. Tried grounding the RCA outputs on my HU, and still.. no luck. Rip that POS out and install Stinger 4000 series RCAs. All engine noise is gone. Now, Im sure theres a notable difference between $8 RCAs and quality ones. JakThomas Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 From my experiance the lower dollar rca,s don't last long. I hope to not be dazed by thingsthatglitter if i ever have more wealth than the low income.
Miguels Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 quality wire will last longer and sound better.. i have used the $5 ones and when i unhooked it the casing stayed on the amp RCA jack.. i have also gotten better sound out of the better wire my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
TylerParrish Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 There's a big difference, sometimes. Sometimes even the expensive ones can suck a little ass though. Aj11 Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 my Zapco took a symbolink cable instead of a rca, but i buy expensive wires. i know i don't have to and it's prolly a waste but i always have and always will. i have like 7or 8 sets of the Walmart rca wires. to me there junk they don't fit snug on the amp there thin and not very well insulated. i guess this is my reason for buying $50+ rca wire, if I'm gonna spend several hundred dollars on my Amp why cheap out on the mane wire that brings the sound to it!I'm not saying run out And buy $50 dollar wire by any means, but I'm also sayingdon't cheap out and go to the dollar sstore either! I've had my $50+ JLaudio rca wire for 3 years now and it still fits snug and looks like the day i bought it. mane reason i bought such expensive wire is i didn't run a remote write for my jl amps i used signal sensing so i bought the best(most expensive wire i could find) I'M IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM SAYING JL WIRE IS THE BEST YOU CAN BUY!!! jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
