Sydtoosic Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 i have a 12" Pioneer TS SW300 1S4 shallow mount subwoofer, can't decide on a box or custom enclosure made of fiberglass and resin. i have the Pioneer 8601 amp. the sub is 400W RMS and 1500 max power. i want a clean install. i need some suggestions please. thanx in advance...
bighossf150 Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Whyy are you putting a $50 sub in a $70k car? Used to have a loud truck 2009 Corvette Z06, H/C/I, 150 shot, g force tune, 730rwhp/690rwtq 2013 F-150 limited, MPT Tune, leveled on 35"s
SlamminBeats Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Whyy are you putting a $50 sub in a $70k car? CLASSIC LMAO
Joe X Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Actually was $34.99, OP regardless of the car, that 150W sub is not really worth building a high quality custom box for, if you really want to use it, get a good looking 1 cube sealed prefab and see how it goes.
JakThomas Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 To make the most of it the sub dosent need a lot .I don't see a ported box but a nice sealed enclosurse placed to keep trunk clean and nice .also to be simple if it allows free air that could be something nice. The sound reproduction is the thing id focus on prettey sure that leather interior is going to lower your output Custom fiberglass encousure placed where its out the way in a rear corner of the trunk everything hidden except for the sub and amp if you want to show the amp I hope to not be dazed by thingsthatglitter if i ever have more wealth than the low income.
[email protected] Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 I may try to get a shallow mount series from sundown or skar, if you really want to use the least amount of space in the trunk get a 12" but if I were you, a nice sealed enclosure with shallow sundown or skar 12 should be my decision. I have a 2008 azera which has a big trunk (yours is bigger) and made a 3,1 cuft sealed box for my skar audio ivx 15... if you don't like too much bass, just turn the bass down but at least you will have more SPL anytime you want you just turn it up
