Car Audio Problems.

Hello, I have a problem with my 95 civic lx and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have 2 10 in kicker comp vrs on a PPI 2400 amp bridged to 400watts. I also have a 2 farad capacitor installed. When I'm driving and listening to music everything is fine, I can turn it up as loud as I want, but when I press the clutch in and I'm coasting my lights dim really bad, my heat stops working, and my gauges go crazy . I could be listening to music at volume 1 and it does the same thing. As soon as turn the volume down everything starts working fine. I just installed a high output alternator today because I thought that was the problem but the problems still persist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clutch might be touching something electrical causing a short everytime you engage it, i would check everything under the dash and car to make sure nothing is touching or even close to it.

When im driving my lights and gauges dim, but not that bad. As i slow down and my rpms start to drop my gauges and lights gradually get worse. Also the louder i turn it up the worse the dimming is.

What kranny said first answer that. Second how old is the battery under your hood and how did you ground your amp and cap. Also try taking that cap out of the equasion to see if it helps if its a cheap one they will cause more issues then they can help

Sounds like a serious problem if ur lights etc are that bad off only 400 watts. Do u monitor ur voltage at all?

1, brand of alt?

2, big 3 done?

3, stock battery age?

4, check ask your wiring for the stereo and and wiring around your clutch. Check your battery and alt wiring.

5, is that car pcm controlled alt? Some cars pcm don't like ho ALTs.

6 check your air filter? had an issue like this before and my sticker cover wasn't on right. Fixed it and all good.

first get rid of the cap! if you don'thave a bank of batteries its not doing anything for you. especially with only 400w. and a simple way to test you alt wait till its dark turn your headlights on and do something simple like roll your window down(if there electric) and see if your lights dim. if they dim off something like that your alt is going. if not let us know and we'll keep trying but I'd ditch the capacitor!
