REVOK1NER
I always see people saying how many square inches of port they have, so I was just wondering how do you figure that out? I just finished the port on the box for my 18's so I thought I'd ask, if anyone can help it'd be appreciated, my port 11" x 11" and 12.5" deep Edited March 9, 2008 by REVOK1NER Quote 2000 Ford Explorer XLT -20" RVM "Buck" Wheels -2.5% Tint -CompuStar Vizion Alarm -(4) Infinity Kappa 680.7cs 5x7" -1 XStatic BatCap Model 300 -2 18" DC LVL 4's -Amps are undecided
dwright27
width time height. example: 5" wide port by 20" long = 5 * 20 = 100 square inches or port. andym85
there is a formula that looks a lot more complicated than it really is... Av = vent area Lv = effective length of vent (effective length = physical length + end correction <---1/2 of the ports width) Vb= net volume in cubic inches Fb = tuning frequency Fb = .159*((Av(1.84*10^8)/(Vb(Lv+.823*Av^.5))^.5 Quote i likes me some audio stuff...
