Jessica Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I love sub break-in threads. My two year old sa-12' feel and sound exactly like my one year old Sa's. And I don't think they feel or sound any different than they did brand new. Hell if anything softer suspension would make low notes worse I would think. I mean cone control and motor force are all you have at low freq. You need something to keep the cone from flapping like a flag on a windy day. DubNDodge Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 As said before, once they are played for awhile suspension will loosen up and they will be louder and play lower. At least, that is what I noticed with my subs. Some people swear by needing to break a sub in, others just let it wang right out of the box. If a sub manufacturer says that you need to break in a sub, it is their way of covering their ass if the sub fails. "Did you "break-in" the subwoofer?" "No" "No warranty for you then!" RooTxBeeR Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 ones with harder suspensions just take longer to get loose than one with a softer suspension On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol.
