ZachG
Ok so im starting to collect speakers for the door panels I want to do soon in my car. I just ordered 2 lanzar optidrive bt25s super tweeters. I ordered them cause a lot of the street battles in nyc the guys out their run them & im told they are good. Im am going to have a crossover & a eq hooked up with them. Do I need the capacitor that is connected to the positive on them or can I remove it. thats my question. 1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Soccerballzs
Are your tweeters running off a separate amp? Kyblack76
My understanding was my panel builder removed the ones on my rf tweeters. Just be able to pass them over properly. And I believe your just fine. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
gr8handogoatness
The capacitors Is used to filter out frequency lower than that tweeter can play, if you are not sending it lower frequencies you will be fine.
ZachG
Ok. That makes sense. Basically what a buddy of mine just told me. Would it hurt to leave them on even if I wont be sending them low frequencys 1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Joe X
Ok. That makes sense. Basically what a buddy of mine just told me. Would it hurt to leave them on even if I wont be sending them low frequencys The cap is a high pass filter, it's only ok to leave it out if you are using an active HPF from your amp or audio processor. Jessica
you can leave it and consider it an insurance policy, or you can remove it. Just be aware if you run an active crossover and lets just say its 12db per octave, and lets just say the passive is maybe 6db per octave, then you will end up with some weird slope that is a combination of the two, especially if your active crossover is at a different frequency than the passive one is. And can of worms has been opened. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work.
