amp for my x-10?

So I just purchased a sundown X-10 d2 for my wife's 03 vw jetta. I've been doing a little research to find an amp with a lower budget ($100-$125ish) and I've received a few offers but I'm not sure which to go with. Right now my options are a mmats d100 (700Rms@1), a american bass vfl 1880.1 (900rms@1), and a mb quart onyx 1500.1....my issue here is that I plan on running stock electrical if I can (120 amp alt on the car ATM,interstate under the hood...possible plans for a second small batt in the rear if I have to). The x series asks for around 1250 RMS and I know my budget kind of constrains getting a high end amp with that wattage. Will that onyx sound okay? Or is it to over claimed (given that you usually get what you pay for). My intent is not to make this a versus thread but rather what would one of you guys choose based on your experience with the brands. Sound quality of the amp does matter to me and so does the amount of current draw an amp requires, also if you have any other amp suggestions I'm all ears. If any more info is required please let me know, thanks for your help.

None of those amps will really wake that sub up good but sound quality is more dependant on the box you put it in than the power you put on it.

should I be more focused on supplying enough wattage then aside from sq and current draw?

An easy upgrade to vastly improve your stock electrical is the big 3 upgrade. That will allow you to run more power due to better voltage

That's up to you bro. If you're more concerned with sound quality than sound pressure then you're good with that amount of power. That sub can sound great on half of rated power. It just won't be as loud as it could be.

Onyx 1500.1

Good little amp there

I think its what I will be going with.

That's what I would pick out of all them. I ran some MB Quart amps for a while. For a budget they are pretty good, they like to get hot though. I would suggest though trying to get the proper power to the sub, and if your electrical is lacking to fully power it. Just back down the gain until you have sufficient enough electrical. Like someone else said though, do the Big 3 upgrade and that will make a world of difference.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

Ive got some fans laying around I could throw back there, I probably will go for an extra batt and try the big 3 (not going to be easy[vr6 is very compact under the hood]). In the passed the electrical has been very stable (used to have an aq2200 @1ohm and a stinger spp1200 in the trunk and it never went bellow 13.9 and I never got light dim with that xtra battery either). Do battery isolators have any benefit to them? I just now recently heard of one and wondered if that might be something to look into along with the big 3 and extra battery?
