ROLEXrifleman Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 So you know the Cavalier was totaled by a drunk driver in Oct 2013. So I replaced it with the 98' Bird and got started this weekend by just pulling off the door skin to see what I'm working with. Still figuring out what to put in but here's what came out. And I wondered why the monsoon sounded like shit!!! WTF? this don't look stock! Pull the bracket off, come on.. just laying there! Just pull it out and one of the input wires snaps right off: Upon further review looks like they hot glued it to the metal at one point and it fell off. Also, you think water was getting inside?!!! Still testing them but so far I think they are still good with the exception of the x-over network. Infinity 6020CS Might use them, who knows Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice

ROLEXrifleman Posted January 14, 2014 Author Report Posted January 14, 2014 I picked up 2 12" X's and 2 15" Zv4's last month. Also have 2 12W7's. I'm trying to convince my wife to let me make it a two seater so I do a wall up to the backseat with the 2 Zv4's but I don't think she will allow it since I already have a 2 seater in the garage. I figure I'll work on the front stage back. The red circles are where I know I'm going to be putting a mid and tweet. the green is where I'm thinking about adding a 2nd set. I like my music bright so 2 tweets is ok with me and I have had great luck with other cars putting the tweet tucked in that corner by the side view. I was thinking of doing a pod in that pocket and putting a 4". So the door would have a 5.25 or 6.5 in the factory location. A 4" in the pod. a tweet in the factory location and another tweet up top where the green circle is. The door panel is in my living room where I have been toying with ideas. I also may go active if I do the two sets of components. Not sure yet. still debating: 1) is the 4" worth the hassle of building the pod 2) Do I use the Boston pro 5.25 that I have in the factory spot or reuse that Infinity 6.5 3) Do I crack open a new set of Boston Pro 6.5's that I have in my stash? CleanSierra Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Go with the Boston Pro 6.5s. Don't use the nasty crossover that you ripped out, start fresh. I'm tuned in to see some good work. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ROLEXrifleman Posted January 14, 2014 Author Report Posted January 14, 2014 If I were to use the infinities I would go active. I'd never reuse those passives Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
ROLEXrifleman Posted May 2, 2014 Author Report Posted May 2, 2014 Got around to pulling interior out last week. Got the front seat, sail panels out. Found a nice surprise in the sail panels. To bad they were connected to the factory monsoon system and only attached with 3 loose screws which made them rattle traps. I thought they were blown, turns out just vibrating. also pulled the center counsel and radio. hard doing a build when your working so much. still up in the air as what to install. Thinking hard at 1 run 4 gauge and 1 run 0 gauge each to a RF T2500bdcp and 100.4ad. Front doors really have me thinking using the Boston Pro 6.5's I have but I cant get my mind around the front stage just being 2 6.5's and 2 tweets. as far as sail panels go, Boston Pro 5.25.
