Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Its one of my buddies Ford explorer's. I showed him how to install stereo decks while I was installing his new one. I went off of the wire chart for connecting the wire harness together. Now he is experiencing the car dying on him, he does not have subs yet, I just installed the stereo deck. Why is his car dying? I made sure everything was hooked up correctly. I've done stereo decks before and had never had a problem like this. Whats wrong? Solutions? What should I check when I go and help him try and fix it?
jarrius Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 I would say pull it back out andake sure its not wired in to a constant 12v wire. I do remember hooking up the 12V battery wore, not ignition. I think I did both. I cant remember, Should I try switching the 12V battery wire to the 12V ignition? Ignition makes hell lot more sense. I think the deck came with two 12V+ cables. So if I have the ignition and the Battery hooked up at same time should I just cut the 12V battery wire on the deck and block it off? You only need one 12V, right?
