Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 19, 2014 Author Report Posted January 19, 2014 Nooooo, you should never cut factory harness. you can do what you want, if you know how to do it. car keeps dying yet you "made sure" you wired everything correctly....... does the HU stay on with the car off? I've asked him that. He said no. Thats the first question I asked him.
crispy_chick3n Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 grey/black on factory side of harness. unless the schematic is wrong that is the only wire that could even cause an issue like you are describing, unless you have a positive grounded out, but i would think you would know if that were the case This page is crispy_chick3n approved. © crispy_chick3n inc
Jessica Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 One wire is acc the other is memory. If only have one wire hooked up the deck won't work. Basically one wire is constant power/ memory The other Is switched so the deck will shut off with the key and not drain the battery. dkindle613 Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Pop the hood... On the drivers side there should a black fuse/ relay box towards the firewall. Open that and look and make sure all of the small light blue fuses are good and not burnt. I had the same problem in my 03. I had a shop hook up my deck, and they did something wrong and one of those fuses fried, but did not blow. My truck would not completely die, but would spit and sputter like it wanted to die.The mechanic shop told me 2 wires were switched.. it may not be the same in your situation, but its something simple to trouble shoot. Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Ok, so the battery should be fine. Its odd that it takes a complete night of sitting before it wont start, Their are no bad circuits.
jarrius Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Not trying to be a dick but you say should thus leaves me to believe that you are doing nothing about the problem but shooting down what we are telling you to check. Have you checked anything we have told you or are you just saying i did it so its fine/ i did the work so its not the problem. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 No no, Battery is fine. I didn't phrase it correctly. All circuits are fine. Their is however a connector I just left sitting out since the factory radio had two plug ins, one for the harness part and the other for I'm not sure. I left it sit on the side. I started everything up, and everything worked great so I figured that connector wasn't needed I also figured since he bought a connector for the car itself that if that one plug laying on the side had to be connected to something it would of came with something for it. But it didn't, another reason why I just left it sit on the side. The one that's not connected is what I'm talking about.
Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 21, 2014 Author Report Posted January 21, 2014 P.S I did NOT hook up the Antenna, or remote for the guide I used said not to for a ford explorer.
