so in the spring my plan is to trade off my Fi BL 18 and get a Sundown X15 and trade my brz1700 for a ct 900 or 1400 or the new c2 lines.

sundowns site says 3-6 cubes for the x15 at 35 Hz. i have the basic shape down but i suck at ports

if someone can give me a formula to figure out tuning and how to find port area thatd be great. or if u can figure it out for me thats great.

i was wondering about a kerfed port also. sub forward and port up amp rack on side are kerfed ports worth doing or should i just slot port it and round the edges?

heres what i got so far tho

45 in back corner

came up with ~5.15 cubes after sub displacement and 45 no bracing yet or port

how does it look so far?

will end up with carpet and rounded corners most likely but thats not important right now

lemme know option on port sub will be behind driver seat of my truck so the right side of that 3D box

port position and dimensions?

kerfed?

formula equation for tuning freq?

how to find port area?

I was wanting to go port up so I can put amps on the side. The top is flush with my window in back so I didnt want to go any higher if I could help it.

Where would I even get a 8" port? Biggest is 6" around here in 10' chunks only. I just though top would a better option and I wanted to try kerfing. But ill look at all options and aero ports are flared correct? Or are aeros just straight pipes like what I currently have?

Aero Ports are flared but you can make your own using pvc. I think you can special order 8"pvc from home depot or Lowes.

Could use 4 4" or 2 6" Ports as well.

Oh duh. Forgot about concrete tubes. But I think id want to try a slotport on top. How hard is kerfing? Id like to try that possibly. But could you give the slot port dimensions and location if its not all the way acrossed? How hard is it to make your own aero port? Metal bowl and a few torches I was thinking?

The flared PVC can be done correctly doing this http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/flares-25mm.htm the bowl method gives you a reversed flare would be less beneficial to say the least. As you say due to the slant the slot port can't go all across so kerfing would be difficult I guess rounding the end would be enough as long as there's proper port area. The down side of a slot port is that it has a larger displacement.

On that side pic the slant is into my seat. I was thinking slot across the back flat part and kerf onto the top of the box. But I think slot would look better how im picturing it turning out
