However, 10awg fit nice and snug. jmfrb1 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 I used and still have the 8 gauge (knu karma ss) I had with my fi's(which were a tight fit) but I figured the sa8v2 would have smaller terminals and since the Fi were tight it may be better to just use smaller, but as big as possible that the sa will allow Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sundownz Posted January 29, 2014 Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 For a 500-watt driver there is really no reason to use beyond ~14 awg wire other than cosmetics. 16 awg wire also works perfectly well for woofers in this power range... resistance is only 4.016 ohm for 1000 feet; so say you have 10 feet 0.04 ohms additional resistance. At the current levels we are looking at for a 500-watt speaker it's negligable.
