hazestorm23 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 Sweet baby moses! why do you need to tune with the -15db tone? Waits for thread about subs smell funny, or why are my coils melted?won't happen subs were never hooked up.
Jessica Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 im a bit jaded by the 9000 threads of people who cant even get signal on the dd-1 cause they are testing their battery with it or some stupid shit. Hence my apprehension and negativity. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. hazestorm23 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 Use tracks 1 or 3. 7 is a -15 db track and I can bet you you will be distorting/clipping if you play music. 3 is how I had it and how I have it I just happened to try track 7 yet no one here has enough respect to explain why it did not distort without thinking that its my first time setting it up with a dd-1 and am using it wrong. Yes with track 3 I can't go 1/4 gain up before I hit the sweet spot.

Hence my apprehension and negativity. I have respect for others on this site man but sometimes people push it. Why couldn't someone just mention it in a way that doesn't make someone seem like a retard that is hooking up everything wrong. I have single handedly set up my system based on info from this site and not until today have I been treated like a 16 year old kid that just set up the first system. As of now I'm set up with track 3. So if anyone could explain why track 7 is out of the question I would appreciate it.
Jessica Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 a CD has a dynamic range of about 100DB, little less but close. What you can hear is probably 36 db of that. at -15db you are basically at half volume. The signal is so weak with the 15db track that you are sending barely anything to your amp so you have to crank the gain to compensate. Since the all the tracks on the disk are clean, you cant amplify it enough to ever get distortion Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. DubNDodge Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 -15dB is a QUIET signal. which is why when you try to read distortion with the dd.1, it can't find any because it hardly sees a signal. Then you go insert you favorite decaf song which uses -5dB to 0dB your amps says holy fuck and sends out a clipped signal. You tune with what you plan to play.
