girlcrazy_4
I am running focal components X4 in my truck, and I purchased a focal amp to run them. It only puts out 75watts RMS at 4 ohms or 140watts rms at 2 ohms... The amp is unable to keep up to my listening needs so I need to bring my speakers to 2 ohms. How can I go about doing this?? Am I able to put a resistor inline somewhere?? girlcrazy_4
Yes I understand that they are svc. If I wire the speakers in series would that do what I need it to do? Add a resistor?

Jessica
you have 4 speakers and 4 channels. best you can do is run one speaker to each channel, or only run the front two speakers and bridge the amp to each speaker. Resistors arent going to help you. Cant fake an ohm load like that. Wiring in series will reduce your wattage, dont try to bridge the amp and run two speakers in parellel off each channel cause the amp wont do 2ohms when bridged. Or go buy a bigger amp. What is the rms of your speakers anyway? Most focals ive seen are around 75 rms, they are made for SQ not Loud. You do know the SQ is usually not loud right? 1badgsd
Bridge them together, no right and left, but it will get you where you need to be. I've done it because it was what I had at the time.
