j_1990
Hey everyone I'm back with another question. Basically my new subs and amp sound just as loud as my old setup. My old setup were 2 10 inch JL AUDIO WOv2 subs 100-300 watts Rms with an alpine mrp m1000 amp 1000 watts. And my new setup is 2 Sundown Audio sd-2 10 inch subs 500 watts Rms with a kicker ZXS 1500.1 1500 watts. I'm using the same wedge boxes behind my seats and 0 gauge power & ground wire. Big 3 done with 0 gauge. Now my question is would my new setup sound louder if I bought a high output alternator? Right now I can't turn the volume up too loud due to too low of voltage drop with stock alt. But if I got a h/o alt will it allow my amp to get more power and be able to push my subs harder and louder? Sorry if its a Noob question.

mmets
It will allow your amp to push closer to its rated power, yes. But as hinted at earlier I would also check the box. Not all 10s will sound the same in the same box. You may want to do a different box but I would start with the electrical first. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/177477-slowboring-07-trailblazer-build/Pioneer DEH-80PRSPRV 8MR400-NDY (eight) PRV TW350Ti (6)Sky High 1/0 OFC, 12 gauge and 8 gaugeTM Metalworkz battery terminals 120 sqft HushmatXS Power D3100 (6)Singer 350 Amp Alt Singer 320 (2)American Bass SQL3200 JL Audio JX360/4 Crossfire XS 8K (2) DC Audio XL 15s (6)
Neckbeard
Do some reading up on how to make a proper box, and then take a look at your current one and judge the shit out of it Build log, Super slow!!: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168096-slow-neckbeards-1970-opel-gt/
mbdblue
what does your front battery look like? How old? Like others have said, look into building a box made for the subs you run now. j_1990
My front battery is 2 years old and its a duralast from AutoZone. Is it possible to make wedge boxes that are ported? Not a whole lot of room to work with behind my seats
