the wiring mess they left me.

When Audiofanatics replied "I got you, gimmie a second" the first thing that went through my head was "dang, how bad does he want the OP's first born"? hahaha

Just kiddin' man. It's late and the thought just flashed through my head.

Well if he can figure this mess out he deserves it . It's a mess the guide you have me right off the bar says the 12v power goes to yellow in the 10 pin harness at pin 6. Well it's in pin 7

yeah that's not a factory wiring job lol. that a know it all wiring hack job.

a good fix would be to go to a junk yard and get the wiring plug/connector and cutting that hack job off and soldering the wires from the junk yard connector to the stock wiring in your car. then you know the wiring is right. just make sure you cut the wiring on the junk yard part as long as you can so you have wire to work with. easier to take from then add to.

fyi, don't like your own posts, its kind of stupid/pointless. I mean we know you like your post otherwise you wouldn't post it or at least edit what you didn't like about it.

even if you put in a new headunit I would still fix that wiring like I said then buy a wiring adapter for your truck so that the stock wiring stays and all you have to do is plug and play once you connect the wiring from the adapter to the headunit. its a lot easier that way then trying to solder wiring inside a small hole in the dash.

the reason for suggesting soldering is that it looks more professional and is easier to deal with rather then a big bulging clump of connectors.

Well I have it going from the stock Rockford heading, to a loc, to a amp then to two 10 in Audiobahn subs. It was working fine then all of a sudden the sun just stopped working, I opened it up and that's what I found.

looks like the kid who had my Durango before me wired your system to! it was a rats nest back there!. the deck had a total of 3 grounds and 2 power wires. not to mention i pulled 3 yellow wires that as far as i could tell didn't go to anything. some of the pins were pulled out of the connector. it was a 3 hour job just to get My new deck in(usually takes 30mins) works fine now but i had to run my own battery wire and kill switch since the deck won't turn off with the truck. he somehow cut the main battery wire from the harness but way back in the dash... i can't even explain it.

i guess i just want to say i feel your pain!
